2012 WCA Membership Drive
Now is the time to renew your Wyoming Chiropractic Association membership or to apply for membership if you are not a current WCA member. Applications and renewals received before March 1, 2012 qualify for a $75 discount. Take advantage of this discount and pay the $400 “Early Bird” rate rather than the standard $475 annual membership fee in effect after March 1st.
Visit the “Membership” page to take care of your 2012 WCA membership at the discounted rate. There are also other membership options available apart from full, continuing membership status. Updating the Practice Act for Chiropractic in Wyoming
One of the primary goals for the Board of the Wyoming Chiropractic Association is to begin the process of reviewing and updating the Practice Act. Dr. Darnell Simpson has posted a number of suggested changes in the Act in the WCA Forums for comments and suggestions from the WCA membership. Dr. Simpson strongly encourages all WCA members to log in to the forums and engage in this very important dialog.

WCA Spring Conference 2012
The WCA Spring Conference for 2012 is set for May 18, 19 and 20, 2012 at the Holiday Inn in Rock Springs, WY. A number of presentations are scheduled in several tracks that will be of interest to DCs as well as their office staff. The educational emphasis is on getting acquainted with the coding changes coming with the change-over to ICD-10 standards going into effect in the near future.
The WCA Board is working hard to expand and improve the spring conference event by offering a number of presentations important to DCs and office managers and to drawing a larger group of vendors with the latest developments in chiropractic. Also, the primary assembly of the WCA General Membership meeting of 2012 is part of this event. Since the Saturday night dinner event was so popular at the Fall 2011 Conference in Casper this last November, a similar dinner event is planned for spring conference. Running two and a half days and offering several educational presentations that count towards CEU requirements, the 2012 Spring Conference promises to be an informative and enjoyable event you’ll not want to miss.
Keep an eye on the “Seminars” page for more details over the next couple of months. Also, remember that WCA members receive a 50% discount on conference fees; another good reason to join the WCA for 2012!
What are Your Concerns for 2012?
A number of important things are happening in the health care industry in general and in chiropractic in Wyoming specifically. The ongoing developments with the Affordable Health Care Act (ObamaCare), new concepts in the delivery of health care such as the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH), changes in coding and record-keeping regulations being addressed with electronic health record (EHR) systems, reviewing and updating the chiropractic Practice Act in Wyoming, the state’s interest in setting up insurance exchanges in Wyoming, and more.
What is the impact of these issues on you and your practice? Which issues give you the most concern? We have a short online survey form available in the online forums where you, as a WCA member, can give voice to issues you would like to see addressed in 2012. When you visit the forums to participate in the discussion on opening the Practice Act, please take a few moments to give the WCA Board your inputs.
